TaleTide Privacy Policy

TaleTide is provided by Velatris Analytics Inc. (“Velatris”, “we”, “us”, or “our”). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, share, and protect information when you use the TaleTide mobile application and related website at https://velatris.com/ (together, the “Services”).
1. Summary
- No advertising: We do not show third-party ads and we do not sell personal information.
- Account data: We store your email, full name, and a securely hashed password to provide sign-in.
- Payments: Apple/Google process payments. We do not receive or store credit card numbers.
- Purchases: We use RevenueCat to verify purchases and grant story credits.
- Story content: Generated stories and character details are stored locally on your device and may be stored on our servers only if you use features that require it (e.g., sync/restore or account-based access).
2. Who TaleTide is for
TaleTide is intended to be used by adults (parents/guardians) to generate bedtime stories for children. Children should not use the Services or submit personal information without parental/guardian involvement.
3. Information we collect
3.1 Account information (stored on our servers)
- Email address (required for signing in)
- Full name (collected at sign-up)
- Password (stored securely as a hashed value; we do not store your plaintext password)
3.2 Financial data (handled by RevenueCat and Apple/Google)
Purchases for story packs are processed through the Apple App Store or Google Play. We do not collect or store credit card numbers. To deliver purchased credits, we (and/or RevenueCat on our behalf) process:
- Purchase history / product identifiers (e.g., 1_story, 5_stories, 10_stories) to grant story credits
- Transaction IDs / receipt verification data to validate purchases and prevent fraud
- Anonymous or pseudonymous user identifiers used by RevenueCat to associate entitlements with your account
3.3 User content (stored locally)
TaleTide generates content you request. Depending on the features you use, the following may be stored:
- Generated stories (the text produced by the app)
- Characters and story inputs you create (e.g., names, ages, traits)
By default, this content is stored locally on your device.
Important: Please avoid entering sensitive personal information (e.g., health data, precise addresses, government identifiers) in characters or story prompts.
3.4 Analytics, diagnostics, and device data
We use limited diagnostics to keep the Services reliable:
- RevenueCat: collects anonymous/pseudonymous user IDs and purchase events to track entitlements and revenue performance.
- Expo: may collect crash reports and basic device information (e.g., OS version, device model, app version) for debugging and stability improvements.
We do not use these tools for advertising or cross-app tracking for ads.
4. How we use information
- Provide the Services (create accounts, authenticate users, and deliver story generation features).
- Process and verify purchases (validate receipts, grant credits, prevent fraud).
- Maintain your story library (store locally on-device).
- Improve reliability (crash diagnostics, bug fixes, performance improvements).
- Support (respond to your inquiries).
- Security and compliance (detect abuse, enforce terms, and comply with legal obligations).
5. How we share information
We share information only as needed to operate the Services:

- RevenueCat for purchase verification, entitlement management, and related analytics.
- Apple App Store / Google Play for payment processing and subscription/purchase administration.
- Expo (and related tooling) for crash reporting and basic diagnostics.
- Infrastructure providers (hosting, databases) that store account information and, if enabled, your story library.
- Legal and safety: if required by law, or to protect users, prevent fraud, or secure the Services.
- Business transfers: if we are involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, with appropriate safeguards.
We do not sell your personal information and we do not share personal information with third parties for advertising purposes.
6. Data retention
- Account information: retained while your account is active and as needed for security, legal, and operational purposes.
- Purchase/entitlement records: retained as necessary to provide credits, handle disputes/refunds, and comply with legal obligations.
- Story content: stored on-device by default; if server storage is enabled, retained to provide sync/restore features until you delete it or delete your account (subject to backups and legal requirements).
- Diagnostics: retained for a reasonable period to investigate crashes and improve stability.
7. Your choices and rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of your personal information. You may also request deletion of your account.

8. Children’s privacy
We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us without parental consent, contact us at contact@velatris.com so we can take appropriate action.
9. Security
We use reasonable safeguards designed to protect information, including secure password hashing for account credentials. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure; therefore we cannot guarantee absolute security.
10. Changes to this Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated policy and revise the effective date above. If changes are material, we will provide additional notice where required by law.
